CARBON FOOTPRINT

Our commitments to reduce our CO

At a time when all fast-fashion chains are taking up the theme of CO₂ emissions, we decided to put some numbers to our commitments.
-
Rather than making calculations on our own using our own data, we wanted to have an approach where all brands are judged on the same criteria, from the extraction of raw materials to the end of life, including the assembly and distribution of shoes.
-
We have teamed up with Carbonfact, a platform that calculates the carbon footprint of fashion products. This platform already works with many brands and retailers.
Carbonfact carries out Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) for all O.T.A. sneakers, quickly identifying carbon hot spots and refining the results as data is collected from our suppliers.
Their team is made up of LCA experts led by Dr Bahareh Zamani, who co-authored the Product Environmental Footprint Category (PEFCR) rules for clothing and footwear.

CO₂ emissions results from O.T.A.

Our recycled cotton vegan models emit an average of 5 kg of CO₂, or -69% fewer emissions than a similar product.
Our leather models emit an average of 12 kg of CO₂, i.e. -43% fewer emissions than a similar product.

Eco-responsibility in the brand's DNA

Since its launch in 2018,ethics and eco-responsibility have been the red thread of the brand O.T.A. The low CO₂ emission of our sneakers is the result of all the commitments made by the brand since its launch:

    • Stronger sole made of recycled tires
    • Recycled materials that stand the test of time
    • Renovation and repair proposals to extend product lifespan
    • Recycling pairs at end of life
    • Local production in Europe to limit our CO₂ emissions.

Reduce your carbon footprint with O.T.A, while leaving your mark on the asphalt

Because at O.T.A., we want to walk without leaving a trace, because the world is our playground and we want to explore it with respect, well-shod.
