RECYCLE YOUR SNEAKERS, AN ECOLOGICAL GESTURE FOR THE ENVIRONMENT 425 million pairs of shoes are bought every year in France, that's 13 pairs of shoes every second. Depending on quality, most of them are worn for between 3 months and 2 years, and end up at best donated to a charity, at worst buried in the ground, burnt, in nature or the oceans for hundreds of thousands of years. HOW DOES SNEAKER RECYCLING WORK IN FRANCE? According to Re Fashion, only 8,100 tonnes of shoes are collected by a recycling plant, which represents 6 to 7% of the quantities of TLC (textile, linen, footwear) collected. In other words, footwear recycling is still in its infancy. |

RECYCLE YOUR O.T.A.! The 3rd Adventure program In our quest for continuous improvement, we are using this program to develop the circular economy on our own scale. Why do we do this? We don't want our sneakers to end up in landfill sites or, at worst, smuggled into nature or the ocean.

A 3RD LIFE
Recycling O.T.A sneakers doesn't mean giving waste a second life, but a third.
Our sneakers are made from leather as well as recycled materials, and some models are 100% recycled: recycled tires, recycled rubber, recycled leather, recycled plastic. In this way, our sneakers already offer a second life to waste materials. By implementing a recycling program for our sneakers, we are developing the circularity of our production process by giving a3rd life to this already reused waste.

WHERE ARE YOUR O.T.A. SENT? We send them to our recycling plant in Portugal. The materials are sorted, crushed, granulated and reused in new outsoles, insoles or on the uppers of sneakers.
